Have you ever been in a gaming session then lose your connection to the Internet? I’ve been there and if you don’t really know how to troubleshoot this I’m here to help! Just try these easy steps:

Step 1: Are any of your other devices connected to your Wifi still!

No: Go to your router

Yes: Try to restart your device you are having issues with.

Step 2: If above didn’t resolve try to restart your router by either using the power switch or removing the power cord from the back for 30 seconds. Not sure what your router is? Look for the device that says Asus,Cisco, Linksys, Netgear, Belkin, Trendnet.

Step 3: Plug power cord back in or turn router back on. Wait 15 seconds and try your internet.

Step 4: Still not working? Sorry to hear that. Rest assured there’s hope. Let’s try resetting the modem now. Not sure what your modem is? Look for the device that says Motorola, Arris, Netgear, or Cisco. There’s other ones out there so if in doubt always call your ISP’s support line or call a good friend you know that’s good with Networking.

Step 5: To reset your modem unplug the power cord and cable that unscrews from the back of the modem also known as coax. Leave these out for about 30 seconds and then plug them back in.

Step 6: Still not working? Now at this point it’s possible your hardware may be faulty or went bad. If it’s one device having an issue it may be the individual device itself. If in doubt please contact your ISP.
